Tower Transformed
By Matt Maile

Owners of an office tower at 3141 Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City have completed a 4.5 million make-over of the building to transform it into a new Country Inn & Suites Hotel, developers said.

The 35 year-old, 10 story building was renovated and expanded and recently reopened as an 80-room hotel, a big change from the days when the tower was used for medical and business offices.

“It was in complete disrepair,” said Bob Patel, owner of the building. “Today, my desire to restore this stately building into a more appealing and productive state has been realized.”

As part of the make-over designed by Oklahoma City-based Renaissance Architects, builders added a two-story wing to the property and restored 34,000 square feet of existing space. The additional wing features 7,000 square feet to add amenities to the hotel and enhance the building’s exterior view, developers said.

The addition houses a 100 seat community meeting, a conference room, and additional suites. The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool.

The hotel features 64 regular guest rooms and 16 suites.

“This was not an easy task, but we are proud to have delivered a project with improved architectural character that adds value to our community,” said Socrates Lazaridis, principal architect on the project.
