Grove Valley Elementary is about one month away from being completed, Deer Creek school officials said.
Richard Vrooman, the district’s director of operations, said sidewalks, driveways and landscaping at the school are all that remain on construction crews’ to-do list.

School officials already have received a temporary occupancy permit, which has allowed Principal Debbie Straughn to move into her office. Some furniture also has been moved in, Vrooman said.
Vrooman said recent rains have caused about two weeks of delays on the construction, pushing back the completion date to about mid-June.
When it opens to students in August, the 35-classroom school will have enough space to hold 600 students, he said.
